Past Events

Check out these pictures from our past events!

11/15/25 – Annual Chili Cook-off.  We are please to announce this year’s winners:  Toni D’India, Chef Ed Velez of The Vegan Nest, and Tena Zapantis. Congratulations to all our chefs and thank you to all who came to taste and vote. It was once again a ton of fun with Joel Bates on sound and providing a rousing game of Trivia. Thank you to all the businesses who sponsored and contributed to this event.

10/4/25 – Nashua River Conservation Area Cleanup.  We did it! With 6 volunteers, we got some really heavy items out of this beautiful area. We coordinated with our DPW to pickup our “haul.” The critters who live in the area thank you!

9/24/25 – Lights Brigade Bike Light Giveaway.  The weather was misty and cool, but we STILL placed 50 sets of lights with young people and that’s a BIG WIN for biking safety in Clinton! A big thank you goes to Clinton Middle School and Mr. McGuire who coordinated this event.

5/18/25 – Riverwalk on the Nashua River.  The weather was fine and we had a lovely walk along the trails starting at the Water Street Bridge. Many beautiful views and reasons to go back.  We saw deer and evidence of some busy beavers.

11/9/24 – 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off.  This event attracted 16 chili entries this year!  The competition was stiff with the winner being “Improbable Chili,” a vegetarian option made by Trevor Martin. We had 2 town departments, a married couple competing against each other, and Turini Catering, our reigning champing coming in second. Thank you to all those who attended and all the businesses who sponsored and contributed to this event.

5/4/24 – SPRING PLANT SALE.  We had a beautiful cloudy, cool day perfect for a plant sale at Sterling Street Brewery. With plants donated from CGCT member gardens, we were able to meet lots of new people to share our mission with and also made $554 to put towards our projects and operating costs. Thank you to all those who helped make this event a huge success.

4/20/24 – EARTH DAY.  The weather was iffy, but cleared up nicely for a first cleanup at 447 Berlin Street. We were able to assemble a large pile of invasive vines to dry in the sun before disposal. Other groups cleaned up around Central Park, school fields, and the streets in the central area of Downtown. A very productive day that ended with meeting up at Sterling Street Brewery where we  shared stories and drew the winning ticket for our Point Sebago Raffle.

10/28/23 – FALL CLEANUP.  Not a bad haul for our cleanup crew of 4 down on the rail trail. There were many more clearing invasives, removing rusty barbed wire fencing, and more on Rauscher Farm. A very productive day!

6/13/23 – 2023 ANNUAL MEETING.  Our 2023 Annual Meeting was well-attended for Meg Bandara’s talk. It was informative and greatly appreciated as we plan the trails for MassCentral Rail Trail in Clinton. Our Board was reelected. You can see the charter in our “About Us” tab.

5/06/23 – Riverwalk 2023. We had a nice turnout for this year’s walk along the Nashua River in Clinton. We’ve challenged ourselves to go back when the river is low to do a larger cleanup. We try to time the walk for early in the season to avoid the black flies and we did it! If you missed it this year, the trails are marked on the trees and we have a map in our Trails tab..

4/22/23 – EARTH DAY 2023! We had a great turnout and perfect weather (cool enough for black flies to not fly!). JABIL provided 16 volunteers and were the top collectors with 20 bags of trash. More than 60 volunteers spread out across town to pick up trash and work on projects at Rauscher Farm and the rail trail. Many of us met afterwards at Sterling Street Brewery to celebrate a cleaner Clinton.

10/22/22 – VOLUNTEER & BEER event in Downtown Clinton was inspired by MAKE-A-DIFFERENCE DAY. Hundreds attended – we talked to so many people! We got many new volunteers interested in several areas of need for us. We asked a young attendee to pull the winning ticket for our Fall Fundraiser. Congratulations to the winner and WELCOME to our many new volunteers!

5/21/22 – The weather cooperated for us once again and we had a lovely walk along the new rail trail.

5/19/22 – Mass Central or Central Mass?  Well, turns out it was both! Today, it is the Mass Central Rail Trail. We learned a lot and our speaker did too, coming to Clinton and meeting people who had first-hand experience riding on this train before it was shut down.

4/23/22 – Springtime on Rauscher Farm!  We had a TON of work to do and a big thank you goes out to our local Girl Scout troup who put in many hours re-homing earthworms and pulling wild grasses out in preparation of the new Pollinator Garden.

10/2/21 – Our fall Greenway Cleanday. We spent time getting ready for winter on Rauscher Farm and also started some cleanup on our new Rail Trail.

9/11/21 – Our Old Home Day Booth was a lot of fun and had a record number of visitors, both friends of newly interested. Some of whom entered our raffle for Fall Mums. We had a record number of visitors sign up to be on our mailing list.

4/24/21 – October Greenway CleanDay for Earth Day at the new Clinton section of the Mass Central Rail Trail and Rauscher Farm.  need to upload new pictures here.
